The cashier position combines certain duties of a receptionist, cashier,
customer service representative, and accounting clerk. The cashier greets
customers as they come into a branch, handles monetary transactions, offers
customers solutions to their borrowing needs, and performs certain computer
functions.
In terms of career options, the cashier position is probably the most versatile position in the company. While the manager trainee is expected to advance into management, the cashier may elect instead to remain in the same branch for his or her career or the cashier can choose to pursue management training.
